Securing your cloud with Prisma Cloud

Prisma Cloud (previously Redlock) is Palo Alto’s proposed CSPM tool for providing effective defense against threats in public cloud environments to help organizations ensure compliance, govern security, and enable security operations.

Just one year ago, Palo Alto Networks announced the acquisition of the RedLock startup for $173 million in cash. Redlock focuses on protecting the public cloud by defining security and compliance positions, especially on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

Palo Alto had also purchased Evident.io and Secdo, two cloud security tools, earlier that year. For this reason, in May of this year, Palo Alto announced the Prisma suite, focused on different aspects of cloud security, with Prisma Cloud being Redlock’s own part.

🤔 So Redlock or Prisma Public Cloud?
As it is so recent, everyone uses the name they know. Prisma can lead to confused by the different services and Redlock is out of step.
